Spicy-Hot & Heathy Stir fry

Donno whether this is Chinese, Cantonese or Indonesian dish!! Simply followed my instinct and the output was surprising! Even "the man" who is strictly Bengali for food...he also could not control extra helpings..:P
  We normally have the set meals at Chinese counters with rice & stir fried veggies or may be chicken or prawn during eating outside after shopping (if not McD or KFC or my most favourite Hotplates). But I personally feel it little dry for rice ..."jhol-bhate bangali hole ja hoy!!" So we both try to opt for stir-fries with little saucy gravy!
     Yesterday I decided to make stir-fry with mushroom & vegetables . I was thinking how to make it spicy...so finally thought to make it this way. Definitely was not sure about the result. Then thought "lets take a chance!!"



Ingredients:

  1. Mushroom  2 cup sliced (any type mushroom)
  2. Broccoli 1 cup small size florets
  3. Beans 7-8 pieces (cut into 2" pieces)
  4. Asparagus tips 5-6 (cut into 2" pieces)
  5. Baby corn 1 cup (cut into pieces)
  6. Green bell pepper 1 cup ( diced)
  7. Onion 1 (diced)
  8. Salt (little bit)
  9. White pepper powder 1/2 tea spoon
  10. White oil or sesame oil 2 table spoon

For Sauce:
  1. Garlic 4-5 cloves (sliced)
  2. Ginger 1 table spoon (sliced)
  3. Fresh hot chilli 2-3 (according to taste...I used Thai red chilli)
  4. Whole dry red chilli 3-4
  5. Sesame seed 1 tea spoon
  6. Dark soy sauce 2 table spoon
  7. Worcestershire sauce 1 large table spoon
  8. Water 1/4 cup
  9. Corn flour 1/2 tea spoon
  10. Salt to taste
  11. Sugar 1/4 tea spoon
  12. White oil or sesame oil 1and 1/2 tea spoon
How to proceed:
  • Wash and cut vegetables as instructed.
  • Heat 2 table spoon oil in a wok. Add diced onion.. sauté for few seconds over high heat.
  • Add mushrooms and sauté for 30 seconds or so..keeping the flame on high.
  • Now add broccoli,beans,asparagus,baby corn and bell pepper with little bit salt and white pepper.
  • Stir & toss continuously to fry vegetables for 5-6 minutes or till rawness is gone and yet they are little crunchy. Do this thing over high heat. 
  • Keep it separately once done.


  • Heat 1 and 1/2 tea spoon oil in a clean wok. Temper with whole dry red chilli and sesame seed.
  • Add garlic,ginger slice & slitted fresh chilli..sauté for few seconds or till you get the aroma.
  • Add soy sauce, worcestershire sauce,water accordingly. Bring it to shimmer.

  • Add salt (sauces contain salt ) and sugar.
  • Add corn flour to adjust consistency.
  • Finally add stir-fried vegetables to the sauce. Cook for a minute over high heat.
  • Serve with rice and fried egg.
