Easy Bread Butter Pudding

It's a gloomy friday morning. Woke up really early. Thought not to waste time in brooding on bad weather, rather I should try to make it bit bright, colourful and sweet. Since it was not pre planned, there were not a lot of ingredient options. So opted for something quick, easy and with really common and simple ingredients.Though the ingredients are simple, but I can assure you that, you will not have to compromise with the taste. This one is simply yummy.
  1. White Bread 2 slices (better if it's 2 days old.)
  2. Butter 3 table spoon
  3. Full cream milk 3/4 cup
  4. Egg 1 piece
  5. Condensed milk 1 table spoon
  6. Sugar 1 and 1/2 table spoon
  7. Vanilla extract 1/2 tea spoon
  8. Nuts of your choice or you can use strawberry/blueberry/cranberry etc. (I used blueberry)
  • Butter brush a oven proof bowl.
  • Cut bread slices in quarters (or the shape u desire) and butter the bread both side. Arrange them in the bowl.
  • In a mixing bowl take 1 and half tea spoon butter, milk, condensed milk, sugar and egg. Whisk them together until the sugar is dissolved.
  • Pour the mixture on bread pieces. Add nuts or berrys.
  • Wait for 10 minutes and let the breads soak the milk mixture.
  • In the meantime preheat your oven in 150'C for 10 minutes.
  • Bake the pudding in 150'C for 30-35 minutes or until done.
  • Grill for last 2 minutes at the highest temperature of your oven for a nice surface colour.
  • Serve hot.
  1. If you don't have 2 days old bread , just take 2 slices of  fresh white bread and keep it in refrigerator for 1 hour and use it.
  2. In some recipes people use brandy but I did not...still you can use 1 table spoon brandy if you wish.
